NFL Schedule Release day has become the de facto Super Bowl for the social media departments of all 32 teams.

Over the years, these brilliant folks have logged countless hours coming up with creative ways to unveil their team’s schedules. In some instances, these release videos tap into the larger cultural zeitgeist, drawing inspiration from popular television shows or movies. One such example came from the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2019 season, with this release video inspired by the opening credits from Game of Thrones:

One of the more creative videos from this year’s crop comes from the Baltimore Ravens, who turned to the psychological thriller Severance as their inspiration:

Everything about this nearly seven-minute video is perfect, from the music to the exterior shots of the Lumon office complex. But if we had to select a few highlights:

  • Malachi Starks waking up on a conference room table, a nod to the first scenes of the show
  • Ar’Darius Washington’s “outie” meeting a Ravens fan and being completely confused by the schedule
  • Kyle Hamilton learning that his “outie” is a cat person
  • John Harbaugh, Eric DeCosta, and the goats
  • Tyler Linderbaum hearing “the board has concluded the call”
  • The marching band sequence

The video has Easter Eggs for both fans of the show and fans of the Ravens, and is well worth your time.
